BFC R Perez G06 – Silverlakes College Showcase Champions!

It was a busy Thanksgiving weekend for BeachFC LB G2006’s (Perez ) team. After going undefeated in their first 3 games of bracket play in unusually warm weather, they earned the spot in the semi finals of the Silverlakes College Showcase event against a formidable West Coast G2006 team who too were undefeated in bracket play.

Beach FC were determined to advance from the kickoff winning many of the 50/50 balls and doing a great job moving off the ball to support their teammates. Their defensive line was solid throughout while their midfield did a great job moving the ball up and feeding their offense ending in a 4-0 victory for Beach FC and sending them to the finals against Legends FC -South who defeated SoCal Academy in their own Semi finals.

The finals being the 5th game in 3 days for both teams was set to be a true test in perseverance, focus and heart for both squads as fatigue was surely setting in.

Both teams overcame and put out the most exciting first 10 minutes of perhaps any game throughout the tourney with 4 goals scored in first 10 minutes. Beach FC girls were still winning most of the 50/50’s however and their speed up top proved too much for the opposing team. Ahead 5-1 at the half Beach set out to maintain their lead and hold off Legend’s second half attempt of pressure to win the championship final with an overwhelming 6-1 score.

Champions don’t show up to get everything they want. They show up to give everything they have and thats exactly what Beach FC -LB 2006 did this weekend. We look forward to watching this team continue to grow and develop together !

Hard work doesn’t guarantee success but No Success is possible without hard work!

Beach FC G2005- R. Perez were back at it again this weekend! While seemingly having to overcome the toughest route to the Championship game in the top flight of Blues Cup, this group of girls dug deep and came together to play 6 games in 3 very hot days.

In the semi finals BeachFC started trailing early 0-2 to San Diego Surf’s top team only to continue to persevere, adapt and push hard for the next 50 minutes and finish with a lead of 3-2 before the final whistle of regulation time.

In the finals however, after Beach lead 1-0 for most of the game, it was the opposing team who scored off a PK given in the final 2 minutes to take the game into double OT and then PK’s for the decision where Beach FC ended up falling a little short. No worries though as this group of girls understands that some of life’s biggest opportunities for growth, come from defeat. Until the next time, this 2nd place will serve as motivation for more hard work ????…..#GoBeachFC

We were placed in the flight 1 bracket at the Eagles Summer Classic, despite being a flight 2 team. Honestly, we were just hoping to be competitive. We lost a close first game to Eagles Blue (3-2) but then beat Miseroy’s FRAM flight 1 team 2-1 (we controlled the whole game – they scored with less than 10 mins left). On Sunday, we beat the Eagles D2 team (who won their first two games 5-0 and 4-0) in PKs in the semis to make the final. We rematched with the Eagles Blue team that we lost to in the first game and controlled the game, winning 2-0 to take the championship!

Beach FC G05 Perez Wins Top-Flight Championship at 2017 Surf Cup

Congratulations to Beach FC G05 Perez for capturing the top-flight title at the 2017 San Diego Surf Cup!

Even before the August 5–7 tournament, G05 Perez had an amazing year together with titles in US Youth Soccer Region IV Championship (National Series), Southern California Developmental Soccer League (SCDSL), California Regional League (CRL), and Blues Cup.

Surf Cup would present a special challenge to the girls.

The tournament was started over 30 years ago, and has grown into a significant competition featuring US Development Academy, ECNL, and other elite squads from around the country.

Beach FC G05 Perez registered for the Super Black bracket, which is the top flight of the age group.

They began their run on Saturday, August 5 with a 4–2 victory over Heat FC 05 RM ECNL (Nevada). That afternoon, they tallied a 3–1 win over LA Galaxy South Bay 2005 Pre-Academy, ranked #6 in the nation by YouthSoccerRankings.us.

On Sunday afternoon, they earned a tough 2–1 victory over D’Feeters 05 ECNL (Texas), ranked #12 in the nation.

Monday morning’s semifinal pitted Beach FC G05 Perez against #8-ranked So Cal Blues 05 Pre-Academy Draluck. A resounding 4–2 victory sent the girls into the finals.

Beach FC’s opponent was San Diego Surf SC 2005 EGSL, ranked #2 in the nation, #1 in Cal South and #1 in Region IV going into the match. Both teams created great chances and were unlucky not to break through. The match ended scoreless and went to PKs, where Beach FC G05 Perez kept their composure and emerged as champions. In addition to the tournament title, the team captured the #1 GotSoccer.com ranking in Cal South, and currently sits #7 in the nation on YouthSoccerRankings.us.

Beach FC G05 Perez is anchored by fearless, technical goalkeepers and an aggressive backline that is also comfortable enough on the ball to initiate build-up and possession. The midfield is balanced and calm in possession and active off the ball, supporting a lethal forward line that pounces on chances and produced the tournament’s top scorer in Onyeka Gamero.

The girls finished with 13 goals scored, 5 allowed, some beautiful hardware for the trophy cabinet, and memories that will live long.

Congratulations to the players — Isa Cilloniz, Reese Doherty, Lailah Downs, Onyeka Gamero, Emily Gordillo, Lenea Guerrero, Shae Harvey, Jaelyn Holly, Skye Johnson, Alexa Lara, Mia Leon, Samantha Moses, Kaylee Noble, Alexis Norberg, Emily Protiva, Avery Stevens, Sierra Sythe, Kiara Van Deusen, and Eleanor Yamada — the parents, and Coach Rich Perez and Asst Coach Jose Gordillo for another championship.

B05 Rodriguez win LA Galaxy OC Invitational

This team played with tremendous heart at the LA Galaxy OC Invitational Tournament! Despite losing our first game 1-3 to Laguna United, the team was able to rally, beating LA Galaxy OC 2-0. This moved us to the semi-finals where we held off Strikers Newport for a 1-0 victory. We faced Laguna United again in the finals, battling back and forth until a last minute goal put us over the top for a 4-3 victory! It was a great team effort and a great tournament! Congratulations Boys!

National Champions: Beach FC G04 Nunes Wins President’s Cup

Beach FC G04 Nunes got the perfect ending to their President’s Cup run:

A National Championship.

Here’s how it happened:

The team earned a berth in the final round after winning the Region IV Championship in Salt Lake City, UT in June. The trip to Auburndale, Florida — summer thunderstorms, temperatures in the 90s with humidity to match — would be their toughest test yet.

Beach FC club soccer Girls 2004 Nunes Presidents Cup national champions day 2

Their first match against Arkansas Comets 04 Navy (AR) remained scoreless until the waning moments of the first half. Evelyn Sandoval scored twice in rapid succession, and Beach carried a 2–0 lead into halftime. Second-half strikes from Camryn Cruz, Erin Hegstrom, and Paradyse Wong put the game away as Sandoval netted a third to complete her hat trick. The final score was 6–0.

Their second match against VAR 04 Rush (VA) began in a similar fashion to the first. The teams went scoreless 0–0 into the interval. Sydney Trump broke the stalemate with a goal in the 56th minute, and Sandoval doubled the lead moments later in the 58th minute — her fourth goal in two games. Cruz put the match to bed with a goal in the 61st as Beach won 3–0.

Beach FC club soccer Girls 2004 Nunes Alex Morgan

Afterward, the girls had the privilege of a visit with US Women’s National Team and Orlando Pride striker Alex Morgan, who played for Coach Nunes in her club days. Alex knows a thing or two about big moments and the importance of team play, and was generous with her time as she shared with the team. Everyone left with a smile on their face — and maybe a little extra inspiration to fight for the title.

Beach’s third match saw a tight first half against Impact GFC (OH) unlocked in the 35th minute by Hegstrom to make it 1–0. After the break, Beach scored again through Cruz after just two minutes, and marched with a 2–0 win toward Saturday’s final.

One of the most difficult things to do in sports is to beat a good team twice.

That’s exactly what Beach FC G04 Nunes would have to do if they were to be champions. Impact GFC (OH) were their opponents in the final, and wanted payback for the shutout loss a day before.

Impact started on the front foot, and scored in the 30th minute. At halftime, Beach found themselves trailing for the first time all tournament. They were used to playing either tied or ahead — how would they respond to the deficit?

The girls came roaring into the second half.

Within minutes, they had leveled the score 1–1 through a fantastic hit from the top of the box by Paradyse Wong in the 38th. The two teams battled fiercely for the rest of the half, and the match looked destined for extra time.

And then, a bit of quality and magic. Beach attacked down the left side. Emma Saucedo burst past a defender and used her left to clip a ball into the box. Cruz took to the air to collected the service, and her touch laid it off for Liberty-Faith Ortiz. Despite the pressure, Ortiz kept her composure and drilled the ball first-time into the roof of the net — tallying the game-winner, and the tournament-winner, at the death in dramatic fashion.

It was a fitting final high note for a hard-working, determined, fun-loving team who battle every minute of their matches and then all wear Crocs afterward. The champs finished with 13 goals scored, 1 conceded, and countless runs tracked, tackles won, and passes completed.

For her efforts, Evelyn Sandoval earned Best XI and Golden Boot, and was joined in the Best XI by Camryn Cruz.

Congratulations to Coach Eduardo Nunes, and to all the players and families of Beach FC G04 Nunes, for an unforgettable run together.

Nunes G04 Brings Home The 2017 Presidents Cup Region 4 Championship

Congratulations to Beach FC G04 Nunes for winning the President’s Cup Region IV Championship! Of all the tournaments in youth club soccer, the President’s Cup is the most prestigious, and it determines the annual club soccer national champions for each age group.

The girls won their first match 4–2 over Visalia Galaxy Elite (CA) behind a brace from Nicole Scott and goals from Paradyse Wong and Chloe Allison. They earned a victory by the same score the next day over Blue Knights G04 UL (UT); this time it was Camryn Cruz at the double, with Emma Saucedo netting the winner and Allison providing insurance. The team rounded out pool play with a 4–0 win over Challenge FC Avondale G04 Blue (AZ), with goals from Cruz (2), Sydney Trump, and Allison.

Beach Futbol Club G04 Nunes wins their Region IV pool

In the quarterfinals, Beach FC beat Pacific Northwest Soccer Club (WA) 4–1 with goals from Wong, Cruz, Erin Hegstrom, and Trump, and earned a great 3–1 victory over WFC Rangers (WA) behind scoring from Madeleine Rael, Nicole Scott, and Cruz.

Beach faced Real Colorado Olympico (CO) in the finals, and may have saved their best for last. After a scoreless first half, Liberty-Faith Ortiz broke the game open in the 53rd minute, and Cruz doubled the lead four minutes later. Cruz — who would finish as joint-top scorer of the tournament with 8 — added a late goal to seal the shutout victory in the 68th.

Beach FC G04 Nunes now travels to Auburndale, FL to compete for the President’s Cup National Championship from July 12–16. Be sure to bookmark the tournament page. Congratulations to Coach Eduardo and the entire team, and we wish you the best of luck at Nationals!
