Beach FC Girls 2002 Schmid

Coach Rachel Schmid is currently the Co-Head Coach of the Mount Sac JC Women’s Soccer team and was formally the U19 head coach of the LA Galaxy Girls Academy, as well as their full time sports performance coach prior to the program folding in 2020.

Schmid is a proud alum of the UCI Women’s Soccer program (2005-2009) and a former captain of the 2008 squad. After graduating with a B.A. in Sociology, Schmid went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Kinesiology from CSUF. During that time, she played in the W-League for the LA Strikers and spent four years as the assistant women’s soccer coach at Marymount California University where she doubled as the strength and conditioning coach.

She was also a sports performance coach for Velocity Sports Performance from 2012-2014, specializing in soccer specific training and soccer team training. In 2015, she worked as a physiologist for the USWYNT until she welcomed her son Elliott in December of 2015. 2015-2017 Schmid coached at UC Irvine helping lead them to a regular season title in 2017.

Schmid and husband Kyle, who coaches soccer at Loyola Marymount University, welcomed their second son, Arthur, in May of 2018. Schmid has her USSF National ‘C’ License, and she is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
