Following a comprehensive review of elite player development in the United States and around the world, U.S. Soccer created the Development Academy in 2007. The Girls DA was launched in 2017, with Beach FC as one of the original 24 invited clubs. The Academy Program's philosophy is based on increased training, less total games, and more meaningful games using international rules of competition.

The Academy sets the standard for elite environments for youth soccer clubs nationwide and is a part of U.S. Soccer's global leadership position in youth soccer that will impact thousands of players.

Academy teams compete regionally in their league season, and participate in national showcases multiple times per year.

The Development Player League (DPL) is designed to expand the Girls Development Academy (DA) player pool for participating clubs. The league creates a highly professional training environment and competitive model for aspiring DA players, bridging the gap between club soccer and Development Academy soccer.

The DPL provides a clear pathway for players who show the potential to make the jump to the DA level of play. The DPL teams will offer players who excel to have the opportunity to be called up as a Development Player for their respective DA teams. This structure provides an expanded pool of aspiring DA players with more exposure to the DA training model and level of play, while allowing them the time they need to develop as well as offering the flexibility to play high school soccer.

Beach FC is proud to be a founding member of the DPL, and we look forward to the way this league will contribute to the development of our players and our club.

The Boys Elite Clubs National League (Boys ECNL) was founded to improve the daily environment for boys youth soccer players through a collaborative club-based development program featuring competition, player identification, and coaching and club development platforms. The Boys ECNL will include both regular season conference games and cross-conference events, and qualifying teams from the Boys ECNL will advance to the post-season Elite National Premier League (ENPL) Playoffs.

The Boys ECNL is based on the values of grass-roots collaboration and innovation, and supports the independence and freedom of coaches and clubs to fully manage the development path for their players, including the system and style of play, the competitive calendar, and all aspects of the development path. The Boys ECNL will raise standards in training, competition, club organization, and coaching in a holistic development program.

The Southern California Developmental Soccer League (SCDSL) was created in 2011 to serve the needs of clubs looking to have the ability to control player and team environments. The League platform and format was designed collectively by coaching directors from some of the most respected youth clubs in the country, and emphasis has been placed on providing a match day environment conducive to promoting player development.
The principal mission of the Southern California Developmental Soccer League (the “Corporation”) is to allow all participating clubs to have the freedom to make decisions that are in the best interest of all their players and to place the League’s priority first and foremost on true player development.
